TickPrivacy policy.

This policy explains what Tick processes, why it is needed and the controls available to you.

Who is responsible

Neolia Inc. provides Tick. Contact support@getneolia.com for privacy questions or rights requests. Postal mail reaches us at Neolia Inc., 3723 Greenville Ave STE 51007, Dallas, TX 75206, United States. This policy covers the Tick mobile application; our website privacy notice covers this website.

Accounts and profile

Tick creates a Firebase guest account with a unique identifier when you begin. Habits are associated with that identifier. If you connect Google or Apple, we receive authentication information and, where supplied, your email and profile name. Tick never receives your Google or Apple password.

Habits, planning and journal

Habit names, illustrations, recurrence, planning times, check-ins, counts, notes, moods, profile details and settings needed for synchronization are stored in Cloud Firestore. Optional journal photos stay only in Tick's private storage on the device where they were added. They are not uploaded or synchronized between devices. What you enter may reveal sensitive routines, so avoid unnecessary personal details about yourself or others.

Health data: access, collection and use

Health access is optional and disabled by default. Tick requests access only after you enable the Health connection and choose to link a habit. On Android, Tick accesses Health Connect data using the permissions READ_STEPS, READ_EXERCISE, READ_SLEEP and READ_HYDRATION. The corresponding categories are daily step counts, exercise time and workouts, sleep duration and hydration amounts. On iOS, Tick can access the equivalent Apple Health categories after you grant permission.

Tick uses this data only to calculate the daily total for the metric you selected, compare that total with your chosen target and automatically complete the linked habit when the target is reached. Raw Health Connect and Apple Health records are processed temporarily on your device. They are not uploaded to Neolia or Firebase, are not stored in Tick's cloud database, are not used for advertising or analytics, and are not sold or shared with third parties.

Tick stores only the health metric selected for the habit, the target you configured and the resulting habit completion or check-in. These derived habit records do not contain the underlying Health Connect or Apple Health samples. You can disable the connection in Tick's Settings and revoke permissions at any time in Health Connect, Apple Health or your device settings.

Device calendar

If you enable the calendar connection, Tick can display events from calendars on your device alongside your habit plan. External calendar events are processed on your device and are not copied to Tick's cloud database. You can disable the connection in Settings or revoke access in your device settings.

Close ones and Discover

Connected users can see your profile name, avatar and days of activity, not individual habit names, notes or check-ins. Close ones can exchange a limited set of encouragement reactions. Discover shows aggregate adoption counts. Custom habit text is not automatically published.

Device information and notifications

Tick stores account-specific caches, preferences, reminder information, widget data and downloaded illustration packs on your device. Smart reminders use local check-in timing. Release builds use Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, including app version, operating system, device information and installation identifiers. Tick does not include advertising or Google Analytics SDKs.

Purchases

Apple and Google process payments. Tick uses product identifiers, transaction identifiers or purchase tokens, status and account-binding information to verify Pro access, restoration, expiry and refunds. Neolia does not receive your full payment-card details.

Deleting Tick does not cancel a store subscription. Minimal purchase records may be retained for refunds, accounting, disputes and fraud prevention. Store records follow the provider’s retention policies.

Purposes, providers and sharing

We process information to provide account and habit features, requested connections, optional downloads, purchase verification, support, reliability and security. Google/Firebase provides authentication, storage, hosting, diagnostics and cloud functions; Apple and Google handle transactions; our email provider handles support. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Raw health data: Tick does not store or retain raw Health Connect or Apple Health records. They remain on your device and are discarded by Tick immediately after the requested daily total has been calculated.

Account and habit data: Your profile, preferences, habits, targets, check-ins, notes, connections and encouragements are retained while your Tick account remains active so that the service can synchronize and restore them. Items you delete individually are removed from the active service. When you delete your account, Tick deletes the authentication account and associated server data, including derived health-linked habit settings and completion history.

Local data: Journal photos, caches, reminders, widget data and downloaded illustration packs remain on the device until you remove them in Tick, delete the account where applicable, clear the app's data or uninstall Tick.

Diagnostics and purchases: Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before removal begins. Minimal purchase records may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for purchase verification, refunds, accounting, disputes, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Apple and Google retain their own transaction records under their respective policies.

You can permanently delete your Tick account and server data from Settings → My account, or submit a request through our public account deletion page without reinstalling Tick. Signing out or uninstalling alone does not delete server data.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or remove habits, remove connections, control notifications, delete downloaded packs, export your history and delete your account. Depending on your location, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, withdraw consent where applicable, or contact your data-protection authority.

Children and changes

Tick is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to online services in their country. We may update this policy as Tick changes and will identify material updates where appropriate.
